Kalpitiya is located in the North Western province of Sri Lanka. It is known for its natural environment, consisting of 14 islands. Yala National Park is a huge area of forest, grassland and lagoons bordering the Indian Ocean, in southeast Sri Lanka. Its home to wildlife such as leopards, elephants and crocodiles, as well as hundreds of bird species. This is one of the most visited national parks in the country so be aware of overcrowding.
